Policies of Motley Chicks
We’re a small, family-run poultry operation specializing in closed-line, standard-bred Black Copper Marans with deep egg pigmentation and heavy blooms. We offer these genetics as hatching eggs and live birds under the terms below. If anything here gives you pause, we respectfully ask that you don’t purchase from Motley Chicks. Have questions? Reach out anytime at [email protected]
Point of Sale
- All purchases are made through this website. You’ll receive an automatic receipt via email.
- Have dates we should avoid (vacation, etc.)? Add those in the Notes at checkout or email us ASAP.
- We do not sell through Facebook Messenger anymore or rapid-payment platforms like CashApp. Scammers often use stolen photos to fake sales pages—please beware.
- Occasional add-ons may be paid via Venmo
Paid Sale = Waitlist Spot
- Your purchase reserves a hatch/egg collection
- Need to delay? No problem—just let us know. We’ll confirm with you before we ship.
Refunds & Delays
- Sales are final. If circumstances change, you may delay your order or gift it to a friend.
- Refunds are only issued if we cancel due to loss of breeding stock or regulatory shutdowns (e.g., Avian Influenza).
Straight Run Policy / Roosters
- Our chicks are straight run (unsexed at hatch). Please plan accordingly.
- We cannot guarantee female chicks or replace males.
- We recommend purchasing pullets if you require females only.
- We do not accept returns due to biosecurity protocols.
Local Pickup
- Select “$0 Local Pickup” at checkout
- Pickup is by appointment in Gilbert AA
- We cannot offer coop walkthroughs due to NPIP protocols
